Systems Administrator

Full-Time in Richmond, VA

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator to work for our company.

Summary:

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance / IT-I or above (Sponsorship will not be provided).
  • Manage UNIX/Linux servers and virtual machines in accordance with DLA lifecycle policies.
  • Conduct system patching, upgrades, and configuration changes to meet cybersecurity requirements, including STIG compliance and ACAS scan remediation.
  • Perform failure analysis, system recovery, and maintain file system integrity.
  • Administer privileged and authorized accounts via Red Hat IDM.
  • Monitor system logs for performance, trends, and intrusion detection.
  • Install and maintain COTS software (e.g., Splunk, HBSS, ArcSight) per J6 directives.
  • Provide systems management and troubleshooting for CONUS/OCONUS sites.
  • Interface with stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, and mission-aligned solutions.
  • Provide documentation and deliverables for system lifecycle support.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance / IT-I or above (Sponsorship will not be provided).
  • Must currently hold one of the following certifications: CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Must have 10+ years of specialized IT experience.
  • Must have 4+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux system administration (RHEL 7+, HP-UX 11.31+, Solaris 11+).
  • Must have previous experience supporting enterprise environments, patch management, system hardening, and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Must have experience supporting cybersecurity certification & accreditation (C&A) processes, preparing RMF/DIACAP documentation, conducting technical reviews, and participating in readiness assessments for system authorization.

Preferences:

  • Previous experience with system automation and scripting for efficiency (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and tools.
