Senior UNIX Administrator

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a ​Sr. UNIX Administrator​ to work for our company.

Summary:

• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
• Client Agency is ​Defense of Defense.​
• Will be responsible for the operation support and maintenance of UNIX systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

Requirements:

• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX administration.
• Be able to occasionally participate in on call duties.
• Experience supporting and managing more than 100 servers.
• Familiarity with data centers and coordinating system activities with them.
• Have a Proven track record of leading and completing large-scale projects.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl, or Ruby).
• Knowledge of system management platforms like Satellite, Puppet, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with VMWare virtualization technology.
• Understanding of SAN storage concepts and management.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting networking devices, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience in managing and supporting databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with web servers, Java application servers, and Oracle Exadata.
• Knowledge/experience with web development and associated technologies.
• Have hands-on experience with LDAP and have the ability to query data from it.
